      Very large global company with opportunities worldwide

      Cons

      Many times they rollout changes before the entire process has been clearly mapped creating confusion and extra work. Includes eliminating positions, reorganizing and shifting entire management teams.

      Pros

      There are opportunities for advancement if you want to move to Asia Pacific. Training opportunities are also improving due to the company launch of an internal Academy.

      Cons

      Reorganization and reduction in services like HR and IT have crippled operations at the plant level. It takes forever to get replacement personnel and efforts to centralize services hamper productivity.

      Going Through Changes

      Pros

      Fundamentally sound with a strong position in the markets that it serves. Compensation is good although benefits no longer best in class. Colleagues were very committed.

      Cons

      As a result of recent management changes AkzoNobel is somewhat chaotic and political. Old company value of Curiosity to Question has been eliminated; employees now reluctant to question or suggest a better way. Company has lost its identity during these management transitions; I am curious to see where it will end up.
