Good Job!

Pros

I really like the people that I work with. Being an intern they are very understanding and really easy to talk to.

Cons

Sometimes there is not a lot going on, or my managers are too busy to give me things to do so I get bored. I'm still new so they don't let me go on the floor myself so it's hard to find things to do.

Pros

I have held 3 different positions between Indiana Harbor East and West over the past 5+ years, and I have always had new challenges. This keeps the job interesting, and gives me a sense of purpose.

Cons

Most people take pride in their work, but there are always some on the other side. As with most companies, not everyone always has the best attitude, and some need a little more convincing than others.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, work life balance, gain valuable skill sets (Note: These highly depend on where you work see below)

Cons

ArcelorMittal USA is a very large company with many facilities worldwide. Some of those facilities are invested in (money and people wise) while others are left to deteriorate yet the deteriorating facilities are still expected to meet very difficult goals with nothing. Unless you work in Dofasco or Burns Harbor you won't move up because that is where all the big players are. Hard work doesn't get you anywhere in certain facilities it is overlooked. When valuable employees quit work load is expected to be 'absorbed'. In fact, people will end up doing multiple disciplines of work not even remotely related to there original job description without compensation. Rewards are only given to those who are friends with management or in the 'group'. High tensions between employees at times because so many people left and weren't replaced. Fire fighting is a way of life not engineering.
