      Heavy union influence. Difficult to transfer to another department. Did not end up doing the job I hired in to do.

      Pros

      Once you're in, you're in for life if you want to be. They really don't lay off and it's pretty hard to get fired.

      Cons

      Low quality middle management. They tend to take the worst workers and hope they do better in management positions. They refuse to listen to the opinions of the people who actually run the lines or work on the equipment, instead relying on the inexperienced opinions of this month's technologist or engineer.
