Pros

Good pay and Benefits with some opportunity to advance

Cons

Management does not listen to Scientists about direction of research. Spins data to impress Investors for a few years on a project then drops it. Most decisions are made based on company share price not on the actual science

Pros

- Reputable company with well-established processes. - Good work-life balance. - Compensation at par or slightly better vs industry average. (Benefits not so good) - Good place to learn, with a lot of focus on trainings.

Cons

- Business facing serious challenges causing a lot of stress within the company, leading to prolonged negative feelings and demotivated teams. - Existing old employees operate in cahoots. Often politically and at times even "racially" biased. Sadly HR is only an administrative function; powerless and always turning a blind eye towards any highlighted cases or concerns. - Lack of acceptability and open mindedness towards change and new ideas. A lot of Top-down and "Boss pleasing" approach towards problem solving. - Limited growth prospects and challenging environment for minority groups.

Needs Improvement, Not what Monsanto used to be

Pros

good pay, some interesting projects, some great upper management that really cares about the employees, some great people that really make the company a great place to work, Monsanto was a great place to work pre merger

Cons

Unfortunately there are a lot of corporate politics that are unfair and quite immature. HR has some unqualified individuals that make it an undesirable workplace due to how poorly certain situations are handled and how they treat you and gossip about other employees. The merger also created issues that left some employees behind because managers were too focused on their own jobs and policies were not enforced as they were in the process of being reviewed. The lack of concrete policies created many issues and caused certain employees to not be held accountable for their actions. HR and managers need more accountability. While the flexible work hours and schedule were nice, some people take it too far which makes completing work difficult. The health insurance transition was also a nightmare for people who have health issues. Was told multiple times I did not have coverage when I did and spent hours each week on the phone trying to get my coverage figured out with CVS because they did not have proper employee information and it was never communicated to employees that this was an issue. Overall, post Merger Monsanto is not what it once was at all.
