Disappointed and sad

Pros

Decent pay. No one is watching your vacation time.

Cons

This used to be such a great place, where I’d look forward to coming to work, was rewarded for my hard work. It was the land of opportunity. Not anymore. Now I don’t like coming here and even though my work ethic prevents me from doing less than my job, I just can’t stand this place or the way I get treated. All I want to do all day long is leave. I have not been rewarded in a long, long time, even though I keep thinking if I work harder, it will be recognized, like the old days. In my department, if you aren’t part of the in-crowd, you get no opportunity, the good bonuses don’t come your way, you get shoved into a corner. The guy in the corner office won’t even make eye contact. What a shame. This place used to be so great, and I miss what it was. :-(

Went downhill fast!

Pros

I was with Monsanto for over a decade and loved it. Some of the best people I have ever worked with and amazing benefits.

Cons

After the Bayer takeover, things went downhill fast. I don't know if it is a cultural thing with Bayer or just the norm for buyouts. Best decision I made was to leave and go on to something different.

Pros

Bonuses are good once you’ve stayed long enough AND stock is performing

Cons

It a male oriented German culture that speaks a lot about diversity but in fact top leaders in Germany give little opportunity to non-Germans. Females are expected to be seen and not heard. If you aren’t at least third generation German with his company, forget it
