Good Teams, Okay Product

Pros

Love the team I work with on the Evermerge game. Lots of passion in doing the best with what we're given, combined with leadership that's thoughtful of our time, health, and bandwidth and motivated to meet deadlines. I've learned a lot from all the disciplines around me. Good benefits too! Lots of resources for education and mental health.

Cons

It's hard to be passionate about the product. All of their games are kind of cash grabby, addiction machines like most mobile games are. So if being proud of the overall product is important to you, you'll be out of luck. But you can find pride in your individual contributions. The top management has also had a lot of destructive swings lately; trying to double growth and profits, ya dah ya dah, without real plans, leading to rash decision making that hurts the game overall.
