Pros

The name keeps attracting good people.

Cons

All the people who knew how to make good games have either left or were laid off. As a result, the company lacks institutional knowledge and has lost invaluable collective experience. Treatment of employees by the upper management is plain bad. Salaries are below the industry standards. Lack of culture. Lack of transparency.

I appreciate your feedback on Big Fish. It's impressive that you were at Big Fish for so long and thank you for your contributions that helped the company get to where it is today. I am personally excited about the future at Big Fish and the company's new focus on the Casual game market. I acknowledge that change is hard, but I am excited for the road ahead, even though I know it will not be easy. Heck, that's why I came to Big Fish in May of this year. Yes, this new direction is a bit different than the legacy Big Fish had created, but I believe it's a good and necessary pivot. I agree we need to change, not to be who we were but who we want to be - A top 10 casual mobile game company. We are working to bring in more great talent from the games industry and beyond and I believe they will make meaningful positive impact on our culture in the future. I strive for transparency, and if you don't feel we hit that mark, that's a miss for me. Feel free to shoot me an email to give additional feedback. I'd love to have a conversation. -Larry, President of Big Fish

Pros

Video games are fun to work with. Some room for growth. Decent work life balance depending on team.

Cons

Do not join unless you like social casino, are okay with a very difficult company above you (Aristocrat), like constant unexpected and oftentimes inexplicable turnover at all levels, or will be in the neglected Seattle office. Ask how long senior team has been at company. I would never send a friend or colleague here even if they were desperate.
