Pros

Simple game plan: send 60 emails per day (8 per hour), send an additional 1 email per hour to earn a $300 bonus once a month. If you meet expectations you can work from home one day a week. New building and awesome location. Overtime hours are readily available. Casual dress, awesome culture.

Cons

You'll have to work at least one weekend day. This department is actively encouraged not to speak out loud, and regularly gets noise complaints from the salaried employees that surround the space in offices with doors (meanwhile, their conversations regularly distract us). You're not considered an important worker to the company (more like a name and number), and you won't find yourself invested in how well the company is doing. To elaborate, you'll be required to attend 2-3 hour state-of-the-company meetings where you'll be informed how great the company is doing, and that year-end bonuses will be distributed, and watch as everyone around you celebrates at the idea (including you), until you find out later your department isn't part of that. You'll make less money than the security guards that work at the building, and only get a 50 cent raise once a year. There isn't a clearly defined path to growth within the department itself, as higher level positions are extremely limited. You're actively encouraged to explore other departments and job shadow, but if you find an opportunity to help on a project outside of the department to further your career goals, your ability to help will be extremely limited because they don't want you to spend too much time away from sending your 60 emails.

Pros

Feels great to pride ourselves on excellent customer service. Good insurance Awesome coworkers

Cons

Low pay Limited mental health coverage, though it would be beneficial for customer support staff as we deal with upset customers daily. Bonus incentives are lacking for hourly workers.
