Pros

- Unfortunately, there aren't any

Cons

- 40% Lower wages than the avg. of tech/fintech/crypto industries - Horrible CEO, making the team compete with each other constantly by adding internal features to rate anyone in the company anonymously with "good" or "bad" - Horrible HR set up, they force people to rate people very high up or down, no middle ground, those that are on the down level, will be fired right away - Creating constant fear of being fired. They will point fingers if you make a small mistake or they just don't like what you say, if you take holidays and if you work less than 12h+/day. Saying no to night calls leads to a laid off. - Aggressive and toxic culture. People will go for you and put everyone against you until they get your job and you are fired - Managers will reach out to you on weekends, nights, all time long, won't respect your holidays nor your family/parental leave

The most toxic work environment I have ever encountered

Pros

Good compensation package as far as salary, although given how volatile the environment is, you may not last long enough to enjoy the salary.

Cons

A very toxic work environment. Sexist, racist and generally speaking very discriminatory. When you do speak up to voice concerns to senior management, concerns are brushed under the carpet and backfire against you. Binance like to say they value diversity, but in reality they do not- just ask around, the stories will shock you. The management structure is extremely obscure. It is never clear who is actually in charge of what. This trickles down to every level of the business. It is never clear what is expected of you which leads to a very 'adhoc' environment and very long work days. CZ often sent around messages to all employees encouraging transparency, however, this is simply lip service. Binance has been intentionally structured to be an opaque company. Nobody apart from a few of CZ's righthand men (and women) know what is going on. Information is purposefully obfuscated to give the public the impression of a start-up that is turning a new leaf re compliance. This could not be further from the truth. Binance is rotten inside out, only a matter of time before the truth comes out.

Pros

I enjoyed working with extremely talented, hardworking, and dedicated professionals (outside of management). Being associated with this brand will also be excellent for your C.V. in Web3. And although the work culture was largely toxic, I learned a lot of new skills and abilities here.

Cons

Working for this company isn’t for the faint of heart. If you’re unfamiliar with their style of work culture, you’re likely to be in for a shock. Although the brand is attractive and well-known, think very carefully about joining Binance, because the company pushes people to their absolute limit. If you value work life balance or boundaries between work and personal time, you’ll be unhappy at Binance. It’s not unusual to work nights, weekends and holidays, and the notion of overtime pay would be laughable to your overlords. I was hired to primarily work with a core team consisting of three other professionals. Three months into my tenure, they had all been fired or resigned from Binance. A large proportion of their job responsibilities fell to me. You might expect an increase in responsibility and scope of work would entail a revised contract, but that’s not how it works at Binance. As cutbacks and turnover destroy teams, any work leftover is simply dumped onto whoever remains. They frame this as an opportunity to prove how ‘hardcore’ you are. That’s a Binance propaganda term describing the ideal employee who’s available 24/7, has no life outside of work, and regularly takes on more responsibility for no personal gain. I’ve seen firsthand how the emphasis on being ‘hardcore’ turns, enthusiastic colleagues completely miserable, anxious and stressed. At the end of the day, working at Binance isn’t slavery and everyone is entitled to leave if the culture and work life balance doesn’t suit them. But for those who are passionate about the industry and are dedicated to growing Binance, the pressures and stresses of this culture seem almost inhumane. When I described my experiences at this company to my friends and family, they expressed concern and worry for me. I don’t think it’s sustainable or healthy. The only reason I continued for so long is because I knew having this brand on my C.V will help my career in the future.
