Pros

- Overnight shifts available (great for college) - Nerf gun battles - Help people having trouble in the game - Free Blizzard stuff - Being able to blow players' minds

Cons

- Crazy angry gamers (Some people don't understand how statistics and probability work. They think if the drop rate is 1% and you kill 100, one should drop.)

Pros

Had an amazing culture for anyone with a nerdy background. Anything you were interested in, you could find others on campus that shared your interest. However, I'm conflicted if I should rate the company on my experience before things started going down hill or not.

Cons

If you are not on a game team you are a second class citizen. You are paid less and get less perks than those on game teams. Pay is much lower than industry standards in the region. After hearing about the mass exodus that's going on after layoffs, I'm glad I was one of the ones that was laid off. People are currently scrambling to change teams or get jobs with other companies. I know multiple people trying to get on game teams because they feel like they'd be safer in case of another round of layoffs. Honestly, with the amount of change going on at Blizzard at the moment, anything good about the company will be gone within a few years. I have a feeling the culture will change towards focusing more on profit rather than making good games in order to satisfy Bobby Kotick and ATVI's investors.

Pros

Free games, a lot of amenities on campus, being involved with one of the most beloved game developers in the world.

Cons

This is not indicative of any game dev teams, more has to do with the STEM field. I really wanted to like working at Blizzard, but within a few month of me joining my position had changed and neither the 1st or 2nd team really gave me a good onboarding to have a base understanding of how they expect work to be executed on. Instead of management giving me guidance, which I asked for several times, they steered my projects out from under me which really left me no choice but to leave the company out of pure frustration. "Play nice; Play fair" was never in consideration for the teams I was on.
