Pros

Product is definitely filling a market need (our growth shows it) Leadership team is extremely transparent around company direction, feedback, and is very open to employee input. Recent hires and promotions show a clear dedication to going after and retaining high-caliber talent Employee development is a top priority from the CEO down throughout the organization

Cons

Finding enough top tier talent to meet our high standards for the additional headcount we are adding during our scale up period

Thank you for this review. I really appreciate the time you took to offer your thoughts. Yes, finding top talent to map to rapid growth can be a challenge -- but our awesome recruiting team is up to the task. :) I agree with you -- building an outstanding product, dedication to attaining top talent, and investing in each employee's development are all top priorities for us at Braze! It is a great place to be. Thank you again. Allison Lee

Pros

All of the pros you get at Braze come with any startup. These include the generic catered lunches, tuition reimbursement and "flexible" time off (this was actually changed by upper management who has setup suggested timelines for your vacation).

Cons

- Lack of professional growth
 - Top down structure in the department
 - No sense of strategy behind the work that is produced
(getting a sense of company-wide OKR's is a nightmare) - Under-qualified management - my current manager is usually off flying for business trips and does very little to provide me training or feedback to help me do my job. This is unfortunately very common across the other regions as well. How am I possibly expected to grow professionally if my manager just keeps speaking about their previous experience at past companies but isn't able to prove this out in their current role?
 - A pattern of hiring "friends" and putting them in management level roles. We only seem to be able to pull in friends at this point which creates a major issue: most of the managers are not qualified for their position (again, this is global across all the offices), don't understand the product, and don't communicate well about what they need to work on . Referrals don't solidify the people were great at their jobs prior to starting to Braze, here it usually means they're under-qualified and don't know how to manage.

Thank you for this feedback. I am sorry that your experience with Braze has not been all that you had hoped for (and that we had hoped for). I assure you, we do take all employee feedback very seriously. We are working hard to implement the programs, policies and initiatives that make the most sense across the board to drive necessary change and improvements. (Career development, management training, monthly All Hands meetings, Cross Functional Leadership Teams, improved new hire orientation programs, etc.) We definitely have some work to do.Thank you for these insights and know that your voice has been heard! :) Thank you. Pros

- Very talented and dedicated group of people - Transparent executive team - Catered lunches - Flexible time off - Tuition Reimbursement

Cons

- Lack of professional growth - Top down structure in the department - No sense of strategy behind the work that is produced - Under-qualified management - my current manager does very little but assign projects in Asana. How will this help me grow professionally? - A pattern of hiring "friends" and putting them in management level roles. Some management level employees aren't very knowledgeable about what we do as a company, but are hired because they were referred by another management level employee.

Thank you so much for this very thoughtful feedback! I really appreciate your candor and insights. We definitely take the feedback offered in the quarterly employee surveys very seriously and are working hard to implement programs and initiatives to address challenges and concerns. Change can take time -- know that we are working hard to improve every employee's experience. Thank you again for this review. Allison Lee
