Pros

Lots of good products, but not in the last year or two. Serious effort by some employees to do the right thing by customers.

Cons

Parent company (called Cengage Learning) is wobbly. Constant changes in strategy make it impossible to follow the leader. Talk is always about revenue and why it is slipping. Nothing else seems to matter, ever. No effort to understand customer needs better, in spite of lip service. Product program has fallen apart. Leadership = non-existent. Atmosphere is tainted by panic and by reaction. Budget cuts (which happen frequently, and without notice) mean cut-backs on product quality. Feels like a company that is only pretending...and hopes to be bought out before the ceiling falls in.

Pros

They often have free food for the software engineers. If you go to their floor on the right day you too can eat for free. And soda!

Cons

Horrible management, not focused, no direction. Don't seem to care about their employees one bit. Also a boring office space

Right Idea, Wrong Direction

Pros

They're trying to make nice upgrades to all of the offices (some offices have taken longer and are less "upgraded" than others, though). They're pushing digital products, which is the right move for the company as it fits student's learning better. They've introduced more social events to encourage learning more about other departments and products within the company.

Cons

Not only are constant reorganizations bad for morale, but they also often seem to result in gray areas with inaccurate or unclear job descriptions. Also, many employees are too quick to point fingers at other people or groups, instead of taking responsibility or their own mistakes.
