      Good benefits and work life balance

      The company is owned by a hedge fund. Any sale you get or thing you do is being taken advantage of by 10 different layers of sociopaths. They pretend to care about education but they do absolutely no innovation. Simply using the same old text books that are overpriced and finding different ways to manipulate the text books to fool admin that are too busy to busy to know what’s truly good for their students and simply suck $$$ out of them. If you care about students lives go somewhere else as this is a complete facade.

      Top heavy under constant reorg to save money

      Great people and mission. The culture is mostly positive. Good benefits and fair pay.

      Cons

      Constant layoffs are horrific. Cliques and favorites get to stay, not those that work hardest or have the most experience (in fact, they go first because they are paid more). Extremely top heavy which hurts as they lay off the workers. Everyone has to take on more work to make up for those fired (with no increase in pay). Recently gave everyone a 20% pay cut and stopped 4501K match. Future looks bleak.

      casual work attire, the K-12 team is awesome

      Too many to list but I'll try. For an ed-tech company their tech sucks. Nothing works right and none of the systems integrate. There are re-orgs every other minute. If you have a few years under your belt with them they'll find a way to manage you out because they don't want anyone around making a decent salary. By the way the purpose of Cengage Unlimited is to get market share and also get rid of their entire sales force, it's just a matter of time.
