There is a ballooning layer of 'directors' (i.e. middle managers) with ill defined, overlapping roles, whose main responsibility is to always be in meetings. This is at the expense of more necessary entry-level and intermediate roles working hands-on with the products. Decisions happen painfully slowly, especially on hiring. There are numerous stakeholders for every important decision, which leaves little opportunity for innovative ideas to come from the bottom up. Pay rises have been non-existent until recently and remain very modest.
