Great pay and benefits, but sketchy company

Pros

When I started, the compensation for a remote employee was the same as a NY employee, so it was much higher than any CX positions available in my state. The benefits were all-inclusive and inexpensive to the employee.

Cons

The company promotes itself as having excellent customer service, but about half of your time as a CEA is actually spent on cancellation chat, attempting to retain/upsell customers that want to leave. Additionally, the company laid off its remote team (which consisted mostly of experienced reps with seniority) in order to replace them with cheaper, inexperienced, and less knowledgeable labor from the Philippines.

Pros

- Great medical benefits - Flexible, can work from home sometimes - Some awesome colleagues - Free CP membership - Nice office/ good location

Cons

- Endless issues with the backend, causing studio partners and myself a lot of pain - IT support is minimal, very hard to get an answer/update about tech issues/bugs, feels like a lot of IT issues never get resolved. - A ton of reporting/analysing, building a business case but not much 'doing' - HR doesn't follow through on promises - The company is SO fixated on hitting the targets/numbers, and when you are actually close to hitting the target they change it saying it must have been too low/a mistake and you feel like you're never good enough - Issues with some of the management (condescending, unhelpful etc.) - Being told we need to prove ourselves and defend our jobs, like the job can be taken away at anytime - Very fast pace, feel like you have to work really long hours

- amazing benefits - smart, kind, helpful and hardworking people - fun company culture - work hard play hard mentality - I personally have a great work/life balance - ClassPass invests a lot in learning and development

Cons

- Some teams are better managed than others - Some people may not like the fast-paced ever-changing environment, but that's what you get yourself into when working for a thriving tech start-up
