Pros
I'm going to split this into two sections, the company's trajectory from a business perspective, and the culture of working here. On both accounts the company is excelling, but I think the distinction is important.
In terms of business, it couldn't be better. When working on tough challenges at ClassPass I frequently think to myself "this is a winners problem." In the last year we have grown the team a lot to account for our growing business, which can be a hard process—but so worth it. The transition from being a small startup to a real company has been palpatable and very positive. We have our ducks in a row, and I'm looking forward to helping more people lead healthy, active, and fulfilled lives.
Now, for culture. I would sum it up by saying we are a BS free team. We value positivity and personal development, while focusing our energy on tasks that move the needle the most for our members, our studio partners, and our business. We test ideas before scaling them (a sign of a healthy mindset regarding growth), and we aren't afraid to fail. I don't find myself doing anything day-to-day that I would consider "busywork." On the product and engineering team we use Jira very effectively.
Cons
Fast growth comes with fast changes to process and product. We accrued some technical debt as we focused on scaling the business to meet our reliability standards, though as we've grown the engineering team we now have more bandwidth to pay down that technical debt.
We communicate a lot with one another, at times I must remind myself that not all meetings are mandatory.
