Hard Work for Little Financial Gain

Pros

The most appealing aspect of working for Electronic Arts is working for a leader in the industry. Being the leader affords you some unique exposure to some amazing things going on in the industry. There is also a wealth of talent at EA and usually the best and brightest in the industry at least have a stopover at EA.

Cons

The hours are long especially when compared to the compensation. Unfortunately there is not much upside for people and really it's just time you spend to bolster a resume. The bureacracy at EA is particularly discouraging albeit, some of it is related to the size of the company. Days at EA you either hate it or love it and unfortunately not much inbetween.

Pros

Electronic Arts is a very creative environment. Knowledge sharing is imbued into the corporate culture which results in studios from around the world contributing new techniques and technologies to a central knowledge base.

Cons

Long hours at times. Despite the fact that they have a pretty poor public reputation for this, they do care about keeping number of hours down. It's just that unfortunately, they always seem to get into a position where the project is late, there are technical challenges, and then here comes the crunch time.
