Get to work with some very intelligent people.

Cons

Unfortunately, these same very intelligent people are set up to fail instead of succeed because they are not given enough resources (time, project budget, enough competent teammates, adequate training, etc.) to succeed. Also, lack of work/life balance.

Pros

Reasonably good compensation and benefits. Lots of very smart people to work along side. There are good programs in place for growth and learning. The technology is interesting to work on and cutting edge. Outside of finaling, hours are flexible.

Cons

Overtime is a scheduled reality when shipping a game, even though management won't say it. The company has the usual political turf wars that any large company has. There is a lot of redundant effort for projects, sharing is not nearly as good as it should be. The EA University runs out of useful information at about the SE2 level - there are no good courses for more senior engineers.

...Free games! What's not to like? EA has some very smart, cool people, laid back attitude, flexible work arrangements...and the gym, and cafe are awesome

Cons

felt there was favortism in the department. It wasn't what you knew and how well you knew it, but who you knew.
