Pros

No formal work culture. Work from home. Current EA share value is good. RSUs given at time of joining, now it has been discontinued. Brand name (People assume its game development work in india, which in fact is just a mobile and load testing centre). Location, Right next to a shopping mall, will save parking cost in mall. compensation little better than service companies, but take home is not what you see from CTC.

Cons

Work, only testing. Mobile and load testing servers done in hyderabad. All false promotion about some development work by people for false recognition. People, Worst managers and hr's. Take things very personally and with an attitude to pull someone professionally down. Every one wants to leave but fails to get a job outside. Career, Growth and promotions only for the managers pets and people who were hired by managers from previous organisations. hr's fully support the wrong hiring and politics of managers. Hard to move out of here. One loses technical skills and finds it diffcult to find job outside. Mother of Layoffs, completely use humiliate and throw policy. Work life balance, good for managers pets and people good at politics. Overall a really bad place to work.

Not a good place to work

Business Outlook

Pros

Non formal work culture. Annual shut down at year ends. Brand name is good. Restricted stocks given at the time of joining.

Cons

Layoffs through out the year with little to no job security. Less or no useful work but full of politics and expert boot lickers. Not a place for engineer or technical people as the work done at hyderabad is either mobile game testing or load testing some servers and is of no use outside. The worst Management and managers at all levels starting at Sr and Jr test managers. A team is made up of people hired by managers from their previous organizations, some expert boot lickers, talebearers and the rest who keep trying but fail to clear other job interviews. Most of the technical people and engineers quit in short time or abscond because of politics, the work and finding incompetent people leading them or ordering them. And yes pro north indian company with policies of work from home or flexible timing being offered to them or managers pets but for others its against the policies.

Best paying worst job I've ever had

Pros

- high salary and generous bonus - perks (free dinner, pop, cheap video games) - facilities (cafeteria, gym) - company parties and giveaways - interesting domain (video games!)

Cons

- none of the pros matter when you don't like your job - ridiculous, I mean ridiculous work hours for all levels of employees (easily 60+ per week). Forget having a family life unless you have a stay-at-home wife. This also explains the lack of women at the company. - high stress and tons of operational and technical problems which are never solved properly since everything is rushed - unhealthy culture and climate: harsh, confrontational, unsupportive. Management constantly complaining of the quality of staff and focuses on the negative - everyone appears to be on the verge of getting fired - I was shocked to find that very few mid to senior-level people actually have degrees in areas they work, which means they just execute in the same substandard way they learned at EA year after year.
