Business Outlook
Pros
Everyone around me in regular hour positions seem to enjoy their work to life balance. GREAT benefits. 3 weeks of vacation right off the bat, not including sick days and holidays.
Cons
Working in the lab (or plant) means working shift work on a 24 hour schedule. So count on working holidays and weekends and being mentally and physically tired. This is one, but large, negative of working at Bayer. Lab analysts are seen as low on the totem poll and if you have a manager like mine...you won't be represented well. Because of this; turnover is high with little incentive to work shift work. Little to no room for growth within or outside of the lab.
