Pros

Good food. You can probably get your own office space. I guess campus is big/"fancy" (but like really, who cares how much budget they sink into it? Walking around takes a lot of time.)

Cons

Very stringent against WfH, at least pre-covid. The expectation is to work you like a mule though, regardless of difficulty of assignments or the config issue/old stack you're grappling with. You really have to be very into what you're doing (and probably dedicating your life to it, as if) to last, as they'll systematically push you out around 1-2 yr mark. Basically, it's great for old-timers who've been there basically forever and know the codebase like the back of their hands. As for new folks: do your time, then get out & find some where you'd like (most of you).

Pros

Competent Coworkers, good food, gained good experience, actual offices rather than cubicles

Cons

No flexibility around remote work, corporate gaslighting during the pandemic when we were repeatedly told that anybody wanting to work from home was being alarmist and lazy and that it meant our work wouldn't be as good while in the next breath being told that our production was the highest it's been, large scale role changes made without input from the roles involved (4 roles were mashed together because "You're all just liberal arts majors with no specific skills."), not always given proper training to do the job, lots of things dumped on QA, if you have a bad team lead you're generally screwed because there often isn't enough oversight for them

Pros

1. Friends - starting a job out of college with tens to hundreds of friends around your age is something that I will always cherish. My weekends/not working time (albeit very little) was some of the most fun of my life. 2. Travel - pro and con. Depending on where you get staffed it can be amazing or horrible. 3. Food - the food was amazing 4. It WILL teach you the amount you are willing to work

Cons

1. Luck of the draw - your entire experience at Epic relies on where you are placed, what customers you get, and who your TL is. If you get a tough app, bad customers, and a TL who doesn’t care about you, you will have the worst time of your life. If you get the opposite you will probably be a bit overworked but ultimately stick around for a bit. 2. CEO - Will crash the company into the ground to keep what she wants because she can and is a billionaire 3. If you don’t drink the kool aid/pretend to you WILL be disliked by most application management 4. Overworked
