Pros

Free gym membership, good coworkers. Decent continuing education platform despite glitchy tech. Good quality training equipment. Membership is unique and accomplished and can be fun and interesting to interact with.

Cons

1. Not realistic to consistently hit training goals. Pay is low, but high when compared to other large chain gyms. 2. Poor work life balance. 6 day work week at minimum to see any remote success. This does by no means guarantee success. 3. Disorganized management with high expectations of mismanaged trainers. 4. Floor shifts characterize trainers as gym cleaners and towel boys, detrimental to business when asking for $110/hour for T1 trainers. 5. Many mandatory unpaid meetings. 6. Many hours of unpaid administrative work. 7. Training is overpriced, trainers do not see fair percentage of session price ( maybe 20%/session) yet do 80% of the work to lock in the sessions. 8. Management treats trainers as “expendable resources”. 9. Members can be rude and have high expectations. 10. More of a sales job than a training job. 11. Extremely high turnover.

Horrible working conditions. You are simply a body to this evil-corp. They don't care about the bodies behind the desk and treat their employees terribly. The base pay is $13 an hour which IS NOT LIVABLE IN NYC. Trying to find a new job and escape the horrors that is EQUINOX!!!!! DONT WORK HERE.
