Extra Space is the best company I've ever worked for. They are constantly growing which provides many opportunities for promotion. They are always updating their technology to enable us to do our jobs more efficiently. My DM is very supportive and makes sure I have the tools I need to be successful. He doesn't just set expectations, he teaches us how to reach them. His open door policy and positive leadership have helped me to grow along with the company.

Cons

The health benefits could be a bit more comprehensive.

The IT department at Extra Space is exceptional; almost everyone I work with is highly engaged and excited about their work. I've heard several of my fellow engineers who are newer to the company say that this is the best IT shop they've been at. The company makes a solid investment in IT strategy, giving us the time and resources to build innovative software and solutions. The IT culture has been improving greatly over the last couple years. Management is honest, open and fair.

Cons

There have been some negative reviews of IT over the last few weeks, which I suspect have come from the same former employee posing as different personas. You'll notice a similar tone, style and timing. I only point this out in fairness to the company. All you have to do is come and see for yourself. Once you meet the people here and learn about our projects, goals and values, you'll understand why so many of our IT employees have been here for many years, myself included.

I had to dig deep on this one...free drinks in the kitchen? Not much else. Some of the people I worked with were really nice, but some of the other BA's I was forced to work with were extremely pretentious.

Cons

Pay is hilarious - I've more than doubled my salary in 2 years since leaving. Horrible IT management. Glad I left when I did. It's been 2 years, and still no regrets about leaving!
