      Pros

      Career building accomplishments, a great team work environment and a very satisfying company to work for. Being relocatable will help you "move up the ladder" fairly fast. One of the things that I appreciate the most with Extra Space Storage is how much they care about their employees and the product that we provide to our customers. The day to day operations as a Store Employee gives you the flexibility to be your own boss, which leaves you completely stress free at the end of the day. You can plan your day accordingly, and each day accomplish set tasks. This company pays great attention to detail to the whole process of what we do as employees at ESS. There is always someone willing to help or someone to answer any of your questions.

      Cons

      There are constant changes to improve our day to day operations. So, if you have trouble adapting to new systems, policies and procedures; then this company might be difficult for you. The benefits can be a little expensive, but they offer a premium healthcare product.

      I work for the Corporate Office so my experience may be very different from those employees who work at our facilities. Beautiful office Job stability, even during bad economic times Company performs well against competitors Decent benefits and benefit costs Challenging work

      Cons

      Little room for compensation growth after hire, other than cost of living increases Executives seem out of touch with their employees Not enough transparency in decision making Company is very focused on financials and supporting operations, corporate seems like an afterthought Need much more training for corporate employees

      Pros

      Incredibly unique industry that is perfect for the individual who enjoys working with customers and has healthy, boundless energy.

      Cons

      Do to the nature of the business, our managers must be very self motivated and organized. They are given the responsibility to maintain and manage a multi-million dollar asset, and thus must practice the utmost integrity. Many are often under the impression that our managers sit in an office all day.
