      Pros

      Extra Space Storage has a strong company culture that genuinely values its employees and promotes from within. As a District Team Lead, I saw firsthand how the company invests in training and development, which helped me grow my leadership skills significantly at a local level.

      Cons

      One downside is that meaningful upward mobility on the career ladder—especially beyond district-level roles into regional, division, or corporate leadership, often requires being willing and able to relocate, sometimes to Utah where the headquarters is based. If you're rooted in one area (like family or personal reasons), it can feel like the path to higher positions gets blocked unless you're open to moving

      Pros

      great home to work ratio, You get 8 hours instead of 7.5 hours. You get to show your expertise when working alone.

      Cons

      I'm not a store manager and its been a year, I have someone who would be a great asset to the team but she was placed on the do not hire list and she didn't even work for extra space.

      Pros

      I’m celebrating my 1-year anniversary at Extra Space Storage, and it’s been a great experience overall. One of the biggest pros of working here is the schedule and flexibility. Management is very understanding if we need to switch a workday or request time off, which makes maintaining a healthy work-life balance much easier. I really appreciate how accommodating and supportive the team is. Looking forward to continuing to grow with the company!

      Cons

      One downside is the uniform allowance policy. The company provides a uniform allowance once a year, but sometimes additional shirts or jackets are needed especially during the winter months. Having the allowance more than once a year would be helpful. It would also be nice to have a bit more flexibility in the dress code, such as being able to wear jeans to work.
