An aimless company unwilling to face hard truths

Pros

- Pays well (or at least used to) - Low pressure for certain functions and job levels - Staff discount (though was more enticing when stock was better)

Cons

- Opaque processes, leadership discussions, and unclear communication on company performance and goals. - No clear strategy to resolve glaring issues with the overall product. - Lack of bravery from senior leaders to take tough decisions; a sense of just doing the same things repeatedly or doubling down on them will suddenly work, - No real understanding of the customer and their needs. - Data-led, but most are getting lost in the details or overly focused on secondary data points instead of seeing the bigger picture of what that data is saying.

Pros

The talented people that was wasted in this business

Cons

- Coupang knows nothing about luxury fashion - Coupang has no strategy but make the business profitable - No leadership or vision - Will be profitable in the next year most likely but will have nothing to do with luxury fashion - They do a lot of dodgy back-end to bypass the fact a lot of brands don't want to be listed on their marketplace - Most people who are still in the business post-coupang acquisition are looking for an exit

Good until it wasn't.

Pros

- Used to have a really good company culture - Used to have good progression - Felt like everyone was in it together - Good benefits

Cons

When things started to go downhill, it became very evident that the company had over-hired and made some very odd investment decisions. It also became evident that some middle management had no idea what they were doing, I assume partly because execs weren't clear with the FF mission, but also because a lot of them had been wildly over-promoted. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that my final 6 - 12 months spent there were entirely rudderless. In the end, I think what happened just exposed how inefficiently some departments were operating, with "processes" and systems that were/are often baffling and worryingly inept. The business model also made everything 10x more difficult every step of the way. I was genuinely relieved to be made redundant and feel sorry for those left behind.
