Abysmal management culture

Business Outlook

Pros

There technically are material benefits and the remote work is quite useful in maintaining a reasonable work-life balance, assuming that you don't get dumped an unmanagable amount of work on you

Cons

Career development path possibilities are intentionally left vague and confusing and leadership within analytics would refuse to guide the team members to development and promotion. Management would lie to your face about the hierarchy of jobs and try to convince you to stay in a role full of busy work that is way under your qualifications just so that they would avoid having to redistribute tasks in case your job description changes. There is also an abysmal lack of redundancy. Numerous times I have had to work while sick or on leave because there was nobody appointed to do my tasks in my absence. And this does happen to various people in my team and within seniority as well and everyone acts like this is normal. This is not normal at all - it is a glaring sign that management is not managing at all. And, there is no mild way to put it, the pay is not remotely enough for the stress the job causes.

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback on your experience with us. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the material benefits and the flexibility of remote work, which are important for maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We take your concerns seriously regarding career development paths and the clarity of our leadership structure within the business. We strive to create an environment where all team members feel supported in their career growth, and we regret that you feel this has not been the case. Your feedback about the management of workloads and the lack of redundancy during absences is invaluable, and we are committed to addressing these issues to ensure our teams are adequately supported. We also acknowledge your comments about compensation. We recognise the importance of aligning pay with the responsibilities of the job, and we are continuously evaluating our compensation strategies to ensure they are competitive and fair by conducting yearly benchmarking exercises to stay competitive within the industry.
