      out of touch leadership

      The ability to work flexibly.

      So many large-scale changes one after another have left many people feeling fed up. The culture in the organization has taken a nosedive over the past 12 months and the promise of improvement off the back of these changes never come through. Management is either out of touch with employees or they're burying their heads in the sand. So many people are deflated and morale is at an all-time low. I have no idea how HR allows so many incompetent people managers to continue with their poor management practices, it's baffling. The company delivers plenty of management training programs but actual behavior change and the part where managers apply their learnings to their actual day jobs seems to fall by the wayside. Objectives and strategies lack clarity and change often. The word strategy is thrown around but no strategy planning takes place until after a project is underway.

      Taking a backwards step

      Highly talented and hardworking workforce Hydbrid working Flexible working Growing business Company invests in growth & new opportunities

      Cons

      Poor pay No clarity on bench marking, HR just ticking boxes. Hybrid and flexible working benefits taken away with no valid justification Fastmarkets had for years (during covid) adopted a 4.5 day week and despite the successful growth of the company during this time till date they have taken it away. Pure greed not just towards employees but their clients too.

      Firstly, thank you for sharing all the things you like about Fastmarkets; the feedback is appreciated. I would also like to take the opportunity to respond to your feedback on development areas. Over the last couple of years, we have learnt a lot and adjusted our working practices accordingly. We introduced a 4.5 day week for just under 2 years but decided to review this as not everyone was able to benefit from this perk. We hope that the approach to flexible working is now far more flexible and enables everyone to find a way of flexible working that suits them as well as the business. Benchmarking is not meant to be a ‘dark art’. We regularly talk about our approach to the annual pay review process and what methodology we use. We are also very open to discuss this on an individual basis for your specific role, so please do reach out to your manager or your HR lead to talk about this.
