Pros
I was recommended for the job at Fastmarkets by by a friend already working here and the culture and people have really lived up to her kind words -
- The management team treat you like an individual and not just a number, there is a wonderful culture of inclusion & authenticity and it's a pretty flat mgmt structure led by a great CEO
- Senior managers are warm, approachable and understand that in order for staff to perform and thrive, they need to share knowledge from the top down, ensuring their staff understand strategy and have full training on what's expected of them
- Everyone I've come across is super polite and patient and happy to help out or advise you
- The company really does care about its staff, we work 4.5 days but get paid for 5, the working hours are good so you can enjoy a good work/life balance and management strive to ensure you are supported to carry out your job
- Fastmarkets is very ethical, sometimes carrying out an activity that will cause the company pain but taking the ethical pathway which is incredibly respectful
- They are are a diverse organisation, not like any I have worked for before
Cons
Some might see it as a pro, I see it as a con - the work from anywhere program means that hardly anyone comes into the office, which is really hard as a new starter and it makes building and strengthening your network quite strenuous.
