Not like it used to be

Pros

Deli on site. Casual clothing policy. Good subject matter / basis of company. Good office location. Some good staff.

Cons

Lots of redundancies. Over last couple of years, under recent management, gone towards a blame culture and don't discuss or listen to staff, making quick decisions. So much cost cutting, but expect staff to do same quality and often work late hours / weekends.

Cheap, blame and dictate culture, unfeeling to staff

Pros

hhhhhmmm.... thinking..... still thinking.....aaaahhh..... Oh yes, they're in the centre of Bath - that's a con. There are some great staff there.

Cons

Always looking for cheapest ways of doing everything, how to cut costs to zero (including not getting staff in so over-resourcing current staff who end up working ridiculous hours and don't get a thanks). Blame games and non-collaboration. Current staff disillusioned, don't trust staff and fed up.

Hit and Miss

Pros

The people here are incredible, reliable (most of the time) and are pretty down to earth. It's a good place to start and get a foot on the ladder in a publishing and you can progress in the company. Some of senior management have got nothing but your happiness in mind and the food downstairs isn't bad.

Cons

They don't spare any expense, for example doing building work to reshape the cafeteria and several offices (that didn't need it) ordering £400 of pizza a week for team moral but not paying for a bike cage in the basement after 2 bikes went missing. As soon as there is a loss people get nervous about who is going to be cut and possibly come back contracting. It just doesn't seem sometimes like they have thought things through.
