Horrible place to work, I wish I could give this zero stars.

Pros

There are no pros for this company, look elsewhere. Run far away from anything Future has to offer. This company has no Future.

Cons

Below average wages Virtually no culture or positivity when it comes to feedback Promotions and wage negotiations are non existent Management do not value you or even bother to listen to you, you’re a robot only there to execute their ideas. They don’t want your advice or intelligence so basically ‘shut up and do what you’re told’ Being spoken to like a child or as if you know nothing about the role you were hired for even though you have over 10 years experience in your field of expertise Management think they know everything and that they’re up to date with technology and current cultural issues but they have no idea. They’re trying to sell a young cool brand, but the way they work is so old school and embarrassing. Accepting a job with future will be a miserable time and you’ll be burnt out and jaded before your probation is even over. There strategy is to just keep buying companies so you’ll always be hearing about acquisitions and how “lucky” you are to be working for such a large “incredible company” Onboarding is non existent and painful. There’s no hangovers, your just dropped in the deep end and forced to either sink or swim Everything will be blamed on you, management hold no accountability. Management will fixate on the smallest of mistakes, which takes their attention away from the bigger picture leading to a lot of projects turning into absolute messes that you just flounder you’re way through. There’s no structure or professionalism with managements communication styles and skills. Management need lessons on how to talk to and treat their staff.

Zero-vision, no-product content farm

Recommend
Business Outlook

Pros

Leftovers of talent and technology from previously acquired companies.

Cons

The company operates on a very simple principle - it's an advertisement driven content farm fueled by false/inaccurate self-marketing and driven by low-paid employees. There is no product, there is no path for growth, there is no vision outside of acquiring more and more companies, firing whole product/business/engineering teams, and dumping all content into their semi-functional platform from the 90s. If you are an engineer - your skills will stagnate, there is nothing to learn. If you are a product person - well, I'm sorry, but you are no longer with the company - no need for product team when there is no product :) The only good people left at the company are the content team - and even they had to unionize in order to get some protection. Future is known for getting rid of people left and right, without any reason or advance notice.

As a member of that new generation you have a glimmer of hope for, I'm going to first say thanks for highlighting some of the areas we as a company need to improve from a tech perspective. There's always room for internal growth, new systems and new technologies to help improve the entire company. And it's unfortunate you didn't feel like you were a part of that process, because had you felt that way I think you might have seen things differently. As part of that new generation you mentioned, I've seen huge ways to improve the platform you are so unhappy with and the people we've shown those changes to have been nothing but supportive. The change you are so vocally lamenting the absence of is right here, being coordinated and implemented as I write this. There are a lot of people very excited about what is happening next for the tech driving all of of the Future websites, and a lot of it is coming from the teams we've acquired so rapidly over the last year or more. It's not immediate change, for sure, but it's happening and it's a shame you're no longer a part of it.

Pros

Unlimited vacation? They're nice and want to create a positive TEAM environment right up to the minute they fire you with a severely poor severance package.

Cons

You're just a number to them. They acquire you and then they fire you and then, they gut your company.

First off, I’m really happy you feel like we work hard to create a positive team environment. It’s something we really strive towards, because every voice in our many groups genuinely does matter. As for money grubbing, each of our offices offers dedicated evening events for everyone to get together and have drinks, which the company pays for. This is on top of a profit-sharing offer at the end of each year and unlimited holiday, among many other things. Best of luck wherever you land next, though.
