      Tough to carve out a Future at Future plc

      Direct Manager and team members.

      Cons

      The salaries are not competitive amongst industry standards and it’s very difficult to receive any sort of pay raise. As a result, it’s hard to consistently stay motivated when you feel your work isn’t being recognized. There is constant turnover and the morale isn’t what it should be as a result. It appears that the company is more concerned with acquiring new brands than taking care of their own employees.

      Horribly underpaid for what I do

      Big company means job stability Annual bonus constitutes large amount of my salary

      Underpaid for expertise / responsibility Company mandates poorly-communicate with little notice period I have to work other jobs to get by It's a publishing company that doesn't seem to care about its brands

      I'm surprised you feel this way. By its very nature, Future is a collective of passionate people who create content for the folks who love the same things we do. Our cycling brands are staffed by dedicated cyclists. Our music brands are staffed by gifted musicians. Our tech brands are staffed by folks who feel weird if they leave the house with only one phone in their pocket. These are passionate people who love coming to work every day and putting all of their energy into making the kind of things they would want to read. In the face of all this, you see this organisation as soulless? Yes, every company ever cares about money, guilty as charged I guess. But to say we only care about money with the things we create every day? That is a difficult position to have a reasonable conversation on. Hope you're able to find a place to be happy in your work.
