- They try to copy Google, repeating the things Google says, but not doing what Google does. You will have to work as a Frontend Engineer, Backend Engineer, Mobile Engineer and Site Reliability Engineer. Yes, everything at the same time. As you might guess, you won't do any in a good way. They say it's about being agile. Up to you to believe it or not.
- They will tell you they have flexible working hours, but it is actually an excuse to add your private cell number to their alert system, without even asking your permission. You will be on call 24/7 and they won't pay you anything for that. Don't expect to be told about it before being hired.
- Inexperienced and arrogant leadership. Your only job is to do what you are told so or face the consequences of disagreeing with middle management. But they will say that you will be working in an autonomous team. If you are thinking about proposing some improvements, probably you're gonna hear this golden reply "this is not the way how we work here".
- Lack of basic software engineering best practices like code reviews and TDD, static analysis. They say it is about being agile. I believe it's about being unprofessional, short sighted and disorganized.
- No on-boarding, minimal guidance, you are expected to start working full speed and figure out most things by your own. Good luck. Specially with the kind of software they are writing.
