Pros

Benefits were very good, a lot of opportunity to learn, grow, and cross train. Employee events/pep rallies/etc a few times each year to keep the staff excited to be there. Pay is good in some departments but salaried managers vary widely in pay.

Cons

A TON of favoritism - you have to "play the game" to get ahead, it's definitely not based on merit or skills. General Manager is arrogant and self-involved, only takes time to speak to employees that he likes. There is a lot of manipulation within upper management and the employees get screwed over because of it. Communication in most departments is terrible, each department blames another department for shortcomings, there is no cohesive feel throughout the whole hotel.

Pros

It's a job, some colleagues are cool

Cons

Too much overtime, hard to benefit from comp rooms (hard to book but the rate rooms are always available go figure?) Management is horrible, the systems are always having issues, supervisors and awards program agents refuse to take escalation calls alot, it's like they don't want to work. The calls are back to back all the time, it's like you are the only one logged in? Customers are horrible, very entitled especially the rewards program customers, they are the worst, spoiled, unrealistic..I could go on for days about the guest alone ugh no exaggeration at all!! The pat does not match up with the their expectations of you and it's sad because they make enough money, you are just a number, I felt like a slave seriously!!! I had such high hopes and it turned out to be the worst telephone job and I don't even want to do Customer Service anymore because of it, Hyatt has changed my whole career path..and I am putting my 2 weeks notice in ASAP!!! Don't work here unless you need money badly...and use it as a stepping stone because there is no real money here!!
