Pros

The company culture is often quite pleasant as everyone is generally friendly to one another. Opportunities for promotion exist if you put in the work. Pay is marked at about average for the market I serve in.

Cons

Interaction with the guests can be taxing. Hospitality is a high stress business, you are often racing to complete several tasks at once. Work can be tedious and boring after some time. As a night auditor the hours you work can take a toll on your life as you are operating on a schedule that is against that of the general populace.

Poor management, good benefits.

Pros

They offer some pretty decent benefits, including a week of complimentary room stay at most of their hotels. Pay is also pretty good, and the human resources office is great.

Cons

Most of the managers are completely incompetent and poorly trained. They micromanage your every move, criticize often and rarely praise good performance. When it comes to personal life (school, children, etc), the hotel will not help make any adjustments for you. Being 1 minute late will get you a write-up, even with a legitimate excuse. Also, any suggestions given to management at any level to make the workplace run more smoothly are almost never implemented.

Pros

The best part of working at this hyatt was that is was right on the beach. I loved going to work and watchin the sun rise and set over the ocean. I also really enjoyed the customers, since we were a resort the most interesting people would stay. Vans held their new 08 unveiling there, i got to meet Anderson Cooper, Wyclef, and some others i cant remember..You just never knew what you were going to run into there. Also the place is haunted so its an adrenaline rush to lock the place down at night by yourself.

Cons

TRUST NO ONE, NO ONE!!! SD is truly a great place to live, but some of the ppl are sooo self involved and arrogant completely out for self. Its ok if your working there during school or as a second job, But deff dnt make a career out of it.
