I work in the banquet department at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. + 6 free comp'd nights each year for being part time employee + flexible schedule + most of my coworkers are amazing + You start with $17.00/ hr (no grats) not bad. Cons
You don't always get hours. During slow season its SLOW. but thats just the nature of all Banquets Management is not very good. One assistant manger told us we should not be able to have another job. Another one micro manages you. Really annoying. When its busy, the hours are till 2am and no taxi voucher. Management doesn't care how your safety or how you get home. we NO LONGER GET 15 min BREAKS for 8 hours work. Only one half an hour of unpaid break. Management doesn't care about employees. It's all work-work-work. When they are done with you, they cut your hours and send you home.
