Very Dissapointing and Demoralizing

Pros

- You get paid, lower than market rate, but they do pay you. - There are some good mid level managers - Great to put on a resume - If you are a Sales Associate or favored by Senior Managers, your career is made.

Cons

- No leadership or clear plan for growing and developing the Company. - A lot of bias towards favored individuals at all levels of the Company. Promotions are merit-less and subjective. - Legal department is a revolving door of legal counsels frustrated with the lack of senior leadership and the constant subjective treatment of favored individuals. No clear direction except for people leaving out the front door.

Pros

Colleagues are nice - but that's everywhere. Good location and office. Flexible working. Good bonus structure. OK benefits.

Cons

You really know company culture is in a bad shape when HR start posting positive Glassdoor reviews. The company is turning into one big fake news. The management paints the picture of a successful company and a great place to work but that's not what people feel. People fill out work surveys but everyone knows it's full of BS, as the survey results are miraculously always rosy. The merger with IHS possibly was good financially speaking but IHS brought a lot of toxicity and the overall culture is deteriorating rapidly. HR practices are utterly broken. I was lucky with my manager but many people are just lazy and backstabbing. People get promoted for being good at playing politics, not on merits. "Might is right" is a typical way of dealing with critique - no suggestion of operational improvement that came from bottom-up was ever implemented. C-suit management must be aware of the problem but think that they can fix things by sending a few encouraging emails to all staff - which only aggravates the issue. No L&D at all.

Pros

- Pay is ok - Some nice people to work with - Working hours are sensible, if you are senior client facing staff, your hours can even be more flexible! - Office environment is good

Cons

- Great if you are white male who loves to drink/ good looking female/ dare to overly boast what you can do, otherwise expect inequality - Overly favouritism to expats or senior - Over-promise happens internally or externally - Subtle and sometimes not-so-subtle discrimination - Each firm would have negative people around, you'll find some interesting characters here, but if you are white and loud and been with the firm for long, you are still respected - Middle Management team has quite a lot of clowns, some like to wine and dine only, some are particularly nice to female colleagues in office - Each firm would have big plans and synergies among teams, but top management would just make decisions based on top or higher mid management people's feedback and don't really talk to people at a lower level so they don't know all the issues staff are facing in market - Newly merged last year as a larger firm, numbers look good on paper, but organic growth was only 1% last year. Market is tough anyway so it may not be a surprise - NEVER expect training, better if you had worked in a similar area like mid or back office at banks before, otherwise, expect to learn yourself quickly - Different businesses have different commission scheme, some sales sell free services and still get decent sales credit so those are easily over-performing. This firm proves that there's still free lunch in this world! - Incredible top management in Apac that seemingly or physically sit close to lower level people but they are only connected with senior managers, overly or purposely talk loudly on phone about sensitive issues to create fear to staff, typical 'manage by fear' type - Expect no support from HR when issues arise, they are there for payrolls only
