Pros

What stands out most is how quickly things move from idea to execution. There's no months-long approval process; if you have a strong point of view and data to support it, you can drive real change. The leadership team is ambitious and genuinely wants to build something category-defining, which is energizing. I work with talented people across engineering, design, and content, and the cross-functional collaboration is solid. The problems we're solving are interesting, and you can see the direct impact of your work on all our users.

Cons

Sometimes the speed comes at the cost of thorough scoping. Tasks can land on your plate without being fully thought through, which means you spend time figuring out the "what" before you can get to the "how." Not a dealbreaker, it's a startup reality, but worth knowing going in.

Pros

Even though I'm relatively new, I've already been trusted with meaningful, high-impact work. The onboarding has been solid, and the team has been incredibly welcoming. The content we work on is wildly entertaining. It's not your typical corporate environment, and that makes the day-to-day genuinely enjoyable. There's a strong author community here that really cares about the platform, and it feels good to be part of supporting that ecosystem. I'm still learning a lot, but I can already see how my skills are growing.

Cons

As a newer employee, the learning curve is steep. There's a lot to absorb and things move quickly. It can feel overwhelming in the first few months, but the team is patient and supportive. Just be ready to hit the ground running.

CandyJar Team Is Incredible

Pros

I can't speak for the San Francisco/Berlin sides as I work with the Candy Jar team and am not in those offices, but the CJ side is an amazing place to work. All of my coworkers and bosses are some of the best people I've ever worked with in all my years in entertainment. Highly collaborative, but also you're given a lot of independence and ownership over your role. I've fully been able to dial my role and work to the best place I can because I'm given a lot of power over my specific tasks, but then the moment I need help or assistance my managers are immediately coming to find out what I need and make it happen for me. They're incredibly supportive over taking time off when I'm sick which many workplaces guilt you about that. The interactions I've had with everyone at the SF office have been so unbelievably positive, and working for the larger company Inkitt overall has been wonderful. I think it's beautiful to see a company that cares so much about the people who use it's product, and not solely just about making money.

Cons

Not cons really, but being detail oriented and able to multitask a lot is a must to thrive here.
