A Very Stable Company

Business Outlook

Pros

Working for InnoGames is so relaxed that doesn't even feel like work: * No stress * Not really micro-management * Flexible working hours * Vacation and home office with short notice without approval ... The company offers good benefits: * Relocation assistance for new employees * Regular parties * Free beer * Covering expenses for conferences ...

Cons

The company is more interested in keeping things as they are than improving them. There is no support or appreciation, but a lot of obstacles if you try to get things better. The company culture gets worse as it grows. There isn't any aim to preserve a positive culture other than printing some pictures to the walls. Most people don't care much about the work they do or the company they are working for. The company is loosing people who can make a difference. There isn't any sign of leadership anywhere. Managers concentrate on the people instead of the work. Nobody is in a position to make any slightly controversial decision. New people are hired to do practically nothing.

Pros

* Relaxed atmosphere, great work/life balance * Lots. Like really lots of parties. Basically every 2 months there is a reason to gather together in a pub/restaurant * Good benefits. 100$ policy - no need in manager's approval to get something for work (headphones, phone case....) * Nice office. Grill on the roof, free beer in the office

Cons

* No-one cares about your skills. Promotions seem rather to be random or time based. Performance review cycle is a joke. You might not get a promotion, because you were "late" couple of times, even though you are doing 3 times more work than people around. This is an IT company. Quality and quantity of work should matter, not that you are 10 minutes late * Very often you hear: "We are a gaming company". You may ask HR: "Why average salaries here are below market level" or "Can we put developers on-call, so they are responsible for their code" - the answer is the same * Salaries are very below market. To get better salary, you, basically, need to bring an offer from another company * Management does not listen to you. There was a moment when "anonymous feedback" was collected in special boxes in the office. Many people put notes there, but there was no response. When people asked for it management answered: "Most of the notes were about food and drinks, so we do not deem it necessary to respond". * No food in the office

Could have a decent future

Pros

Will get you what you need for your job pretty quickly, they do want to expand their portfolio and are willing to listen although reluctantly.

Cons

Poor at best product management who use bully tactics with younger staff, games are as much fun as doing tax returns.
