Pros

• A handful of decent coworkers who were also trying to survive the dysfunction • That’s about it

Cons

• Abysmal Leadership: Leadership here is a masterclass in how not to run a company. Meetings are constantly disorganized, run over time, and are frequently rescheduled at the last minute without warning or apology. There is zero respect for anyone's time — unless you’re an executive, in which case everyone else is expected to drop everything. • Fake Flexibility: The company loves to parade around the word “flexibility” in every all-hands and job posting, but the reality is completely different. Work-from-home privileges are barely hanging on. The policy says 3–4 WFH days per month, but they track building swipes and pull reports to reprimand anyone who takes more than 3 — so clearly, they don’t trust their employees. It’s performative at best, hypocritical at worst. • Tone-Deaf CEO: The CEO is wildly out of touch with what’s actually happening inside the company. Every communication feels like it’s coming from someone living in an entirely different universe. It’s clear they have no clue how their vague “policies” are affecting employee morale (or they just don’t care). • Misleading Salaries: Job postings include inflated salary ranges to attract applicants, but they’re not actually willing to pay anywhere near the top (or even middle) of those ranges. Compensation discussions feel more like bait-and-switch than negotiation. • DEI Roll-Backs: All diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives were abruptly gutted under the CEO’s direction. Efforts to build an inclusive culture were reversed, sending a loud message: employees from underrepresented backgrounds are not valued. • Toxic Culture in Disguise: On the surface, everything looks nice — but under the hood it’s chaos, micromanagement, and a culture that rewards compliance over competence. Leadership hides behind buzzwords while operating with rigidity.

Pros

Interesting projects, and a lot of great colleagues at the staff level.

Cons

CEO prioritizes profits over employee well-being Lack of commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) Unclear direction and inadequate planning for new hires. History of mass layoffs Lack of work life balance, and change in work from home policy 3 times in one year. Prioritizing people in chairs vs actually collaborating to get projects done. Lack of diversity in senior leadership.

Pros

You will work with intelligent people, assuming they stay with the company.

Cons

No health insurance for your first month of employment. Poor management and leadership. A very poor Employee Resource Program. An understaffed, unaccommodating, intrusive, and ~ albeit subjectively ~ disrespectful HR Department. No company compassion or willingness to compromise, including those with disabilities. An unnatural concentration of executive power (Particularly with the CEO). A burnout environment; those in the RE industry refer to the company as that. Full-time (M-F) in-office with no schedule flexibility (8:30am - 5pm). Lack of privacy within the (Riverside) office. Required to take PTO for doctor's appointments (Virtual & in-office visits). Lack of company culture. Almost no community involvement (employees are allotted 8 hours of Volunteering Time Off - VTO - per calendar year). Unwillingness to improve standard operating procedures and outdated processes. Child-like treatment despite tenure and industry experience (I have >8 years of industry experience). Overall, very poor and emotionally inept leadership; leaders receive minimal, if any, training.
