Pros

No Pros as of an MNC.

Cons

HR team is worst. Interviews will be taken in multiples regularly but result & offer letter u should forget those things. My dear freshers and experienced candidates who are working in Automobile MNC's etc. don't dare or waste time giving an interview in this KMI (kia Motors India) in AP. You will waste your life working in this company 14 hrs daily you have waste in your life 3 hrs round the trip travel daily. No hikes until 3 years, they are employing slaves not employees. You will not get offer letter even though u get a job, many candidates are awaiting to join after their interview but no offer letter response from HR team. They will do interview for just showing the head count. Guys its better to work in a small industry rather this organization . No work life balance. many of the employees are about to resign because of the torture and some them resigned and returned back to their past organization.

Pros

Kia pays 100% for medical benefits 401k matching at 6 % (although fund options aren't that great) corporate events are fun (free lunch) Promotions exist, but they don't come easy. Ex) There was a guy that worked really hard (long hours everyday) at this company for 5 years. At the end of 5 years, the guy left for Toyota.

Cons

It is a Korean company. You will experience all the cons of Korean work culture especially If you speak Korean. You will get lower salary than you expected. You will be expected to stay later than your shift like.... everyday (This is so true if you are Korean). Don't ask questions (your questions will be shot down with criticism that they are stupid and not well thought out). No training is offered because the nature of work in finance is very monotonous. The quality of work is really sub standard (proposals/reports for review are surprisingly full of simple math errors and inconsistencies). No matter how many times you bring the issue to their attention, they don't listen. Correcting their errors and inconsistencies becomes the major part of your job. Finance dept is a dumping ground for other departments. They will dump all their work on finance because they know Koreans would correct all the careless mistakes. If you see the "emperor" of the company (CEO) ever in the company building, don't even dream of saying hello to him. You are a mere pawn and expect to kiss the floor. Don't directly look at his highness. You will know what I mean. Don't work for Korean companies.

Pros

global company, challenging, "decent" salary, quite prestigious (not at doctor/lawyer level but still good). The greatest benefits are outside of the company as you do gain good recognition as self esteem. depending on your team and job duties, you may have very exciting job duties

Cons

collectivist, heirchical culture is very difficult for people who do not have any insider information regarding how to behave properly in the company. the work style is based almost completely on the Korean military system so it is very demanding for males and the emphasis is on a subordinate to exhibit military style subordinate attitdue. Women in the office serve as either semi-temporary eye candy workers or extremely self-motivated career types and are viewed & treated as such. The company really operates in Silo's so while the corporate culture is consistent, departmental culture is so varied so it's all purely in the luck of the draw and how well your team leader is able to work with non koreans. Strictly speaking, for a conservative Korean company, it's not that bad but if you're a westerner, even with "foreigner benefits" and preferential treatment, it is a very negative experience for most. Furthermore, the salary is good but the way they pay you is terrible. 30% bonuses instead of a fixed salary means splurging and difficulties saving up. For foreign employees, you are signed on a yearly (2 year max) contract that until you become hired as a full-time "permanent" employee, you are not viewed truly as an insider but as a contract worker. This is not made clear at the start. It is socially negative to be a contract employee in Korea as this makes your work uncertain. Only with full time status, do you actually become a true employee.
