Pros

basic gym membership included if that's your thing.

Cons

could not add additional family members to subsidized membership without incurring additional fees. Wages are far below cost of living for Austin, Tx. Life Time will use the subsidized membership as added value to the wage. What's the point of the free gym membership when you would have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet?

Bad Culture, Bad Benefits

Pros

Complimentary gym membership, excluding certain premier club locations. hybrid work schedule for some employees.

Cons

The Culture of this company has taken a major hit in the past few years, and it is pretty toxic culture now. The company executives don't care about the employees, only stock prices. Employees continually bring up grievances, but executives do little or nothing to address them. The benefits are abysmal for a company whose slogan is the "Healthy Way of Life". No 401(k) match. Maternity leave was just implemented in 2023, and it includes only 8 weeks of leave for the 'birthing' parent'. It does not apply to adoption or surrogacy. If your partner qualifies for health care elsewhere, your parter cannot be on your health plan. This year, less than a week before Juneteenth, the company rescinded the Holiday as a corporate holiday, requiring people to use PTO last minute instead. Most DEI initiatives seem to have disappeared, along with the recruiting department. Employees have been told numerous times that it is a 'recording breaking year', but the company silently discontinued their merit increase program and didn't pay out bonuses. No announcements were made about compensation.

Pros

Free Life Time membership. The ability for a hybrid work environment depending on your position in the company. In general the mid-level employees are great people. The team you are a part of will completely depend on your experience working here.

Cons

Chaotic leadership, constant changing of roles, favoritism and frequent lay offs that cause an unstable atmosphere. It is 'An Old Boys Club' even though it portrays itself as progressive in its staffing. Take a look at their executive leadership team and their benefits, specifically their parental leave policy. In my experience, the CEO demonstrates a fear-based approach when talking to the broader staff with on-the-spot interviews in front of a large crowd making for even the longest tenured staff to feel nervous and extremely uncomfortable.
