Pros

Within the salon you will get a good flow of customers when starting out. Tips are typically always good. You do make some good friendships here and as mentioned you will learn some really good customer service skills and how to manage some very tricky situations.

Cons

There’s always an agenda. Whether it be from the GM in the club or the salon, there’s a lot of favoritism played and way too much sleaziness within. Heard and saw a lot of sleeping around within employees and club management which definitely played a lot into the favoritism and having a leg up when trying to be successful. It’s too cliquey, you’ll have to be willing to talk smack about other employees to be accepted into the cliques.

Pros

It’s better to work alone in this department because people are frustrated with the amount of work versus the amount of pay. Especially when everyone else in the building does half the work necessary to complete the day but everyone else gets paid more because they have a “skilled asset”. Part time is where you should be in this company. Get your free workout and work 3 days a week. This isn’ta place fit fit full time employees unless you move from Facility operation department.

Cons

The blame game is live here. Nobody takes accountability when things go wrong due to fear of management. 🙄 You give your 150% effort and show your accomplishments of the day just to be asked to wipe down a table on the 3rd floor with no “thank you”. You get treated like pawns while the managers live the life receiving bonuses throughout the year.. all while watching you bust your butt for their success. This is a part time job and is meant to be nothing more than that.

Pros

Free gym membership Weekly pay Insurance is okay.

Cons

4 spa managers in a 3 year period. 3/4 spa managers were tremendously inexperienced, dismissive of employees, unethical. If an employee is made uncomfortable or sexually assaulted by a member, management will dismiss you and allow that member to return unless you make a scene (S. Patton former manager). The spa has a cancellation policy that protects the pay of technicians when clients no-show appointments; They refuse to enforce it, costing the spa and the technician. Commission is determined by the revenue per hour in the 4 week period prior to the current pay period. But they won’t tell you that directly in your interview. High turnover. Not actually African American friendly. Manager M. Henry offered to shred an intake form for client to allow a tech to perform a service with a severe allergy to ingredients included in the service. Management lacks time management and critical thinking which is why technicians are running out of supplies and are not able to replace them. Management is scatterbrained and vague when asked direct questions. The spa has taken a deep decline in management. Madison’s Henry and Felsenthal are the worst.
