Pros

You build relationships with the team members and members that are amazing. They recently announced they were buying all Operations Team Members new shoes and have started to offer a few more incentives for team members like purchasing their first uniform.

Cons

Team Members that work at the clubs are treated horribly, while our corporate team members accrue PTO faster, get holidays and weekends off, and get to go home by 5pm every night. Being a salaried team member means that Life Time owns you. I was made to feel bad when I would take off of work and even when I was off of work I would be expected to check emails and take phone calls even though that's against policy. We would get knocked on audits for broken things that we could not afford to fix within our monthly budget. Also your quarterly "bonus pay" is based on the performance of all other departments in the club. Even if you hit your goals for the quarter, if personal training or sales doesn't hit you do not get your bonus.

Pros

Laid back atmosphere, extremely nice customers. Good place to build a business. They offer benefits. Something that is rare in this industry.

Cons

The company has no understanding about the cosmetology, massage, esticician.. etc. industry. Building a clientele is easier than many salons because of the high traffic. The pay to spa employees is an insult to the industry. You may be busy, but will never make a decent wage. If you are thinking of applying there make sure to look into their 40/ 60 commission rate. Unless you bring in more than 5 thousand a month. Also they take out shop charges for everything from usage of color.. between 8-10 dollars per client, to just haircuts 1-2 dollars per client. I could be somewhat off on these numbers as they do not show you on your paycheck how much is taken out. It is extremely hard to find out.

Pros

Free Membership Nice coworkers Great facility Discount at spa/cafe and personal training Using the facility outside of working hours was great, however actually working at this location was a struggle.

Cons

Management sucks, they are constantly rotating through new managers. In my two years there I had over 5 different managers. They didn't have the guts to fire a bad assistant manager in the department so everyone had to deal with poor management in the department. Also operations is just a nice word for housekeeping, it's a hard job and you don't get paid fairly. I was paid $9.50 an hour to clean bathrooms, showers, pools, do an insane amount of towel folding and laundry, clean gym equipment, and on top of it all deal with the entitled members. If you can get a job at the front desk, work is so much easier and you get paid more than the operations staff which is ridiculous, they don't work as hard as operations. Which just fuels resentment between associates, it's just an unfair work environment in my opinion.
