flexibility for those who are fully remote (though hybrid model is being enforced)

Cons

upper management does not vouch or care for you clear favoritism micromanagers constantly stringing people along (acting like you will get a merit increase or promotion--you wont) no transparency with upper management--constantly telling different team members different reasonings behind pay differences and asking us not to discuss it hire outside team members rather than promoting from within do not care for their employees until they finally leave, then want to offer more money did not tell employees bonuses would be based on in-office attendance

Pros

There are a lot of really great, smart, hardworking people at Medscape, including middle managers.

Cons

Those smart, hardworking people are getting chewed up and spit out by owners/senior management. Presumably the problem is coming down from the private equity owners (Internet Brands), because this was once a great company. Everything the reviewer in "Owned by Equity Firm - Was Better Before Buy-Out" said is accurate. The average employee's merit increase for 2022 was 2% - 2.5%, which was insulting. The company was profitable and inflation was between 6% and 8%, so a 2.5% increase was indeed a pay cut. And the cost of insurance went up. Bonuses were cut back for the first time ever. There are some real problems here, red flags everywhere.

I like my colleagues and my boss.

Cons

Disorganized, meaningless work, out of touch management, frustrating, poor oversight, top doesn't know what bottom does, very poor opportunities for advancement, will underpay employees from merged companies if they didn't make starting wage with former company, people get away with doing nothing and pushing work off on others
