Pros

--Flexible hours --Promotional periods give short-term pay bumps --Easy for native speakers to qualify for most skillsets to be taught

Cons

--The combination of an unlimited, low-cost plan for students to take spur-of-the-moment classes, plus low pay rates for non-native speaking teachers, discourages students from booking classes with native speaking teachers. --While 100% off discounts awarded to individual teachers can be beneficial (making a class free for students to try out a new teacher), lesser promotional rates are insufficient to retain students. This is because either non-native teachers are paid at approximately 25% of the rate for native speakers, so a 50% off discount for a native speaker is still twice the rate for a non-native speaker. Additionally, 100% discounts are continuously being awarded to new teachers, so there is a financial incentive for students to constantly hop around from free class to free class, without regard for developing a long-term rapport with a single instructor.
