Pros

Flexible schedule, work-from-home setup, no degree needed, quick application process, and ready-made teaching materials.

Cons

While teaching at Native Camp is a rewarding experience, there are a few areas that could be improved. For example, the booking system can sometimes be unpredictable, making it challenging to secure regular classes. The compensation is modest, which may be difficult for some teachers depending on their goals. Additionally, the penalties for technical issues or missed classes can feel a bit strict at times. However, with continued support and enhancements, the platform has great potential to grow even more teacher-friendly.

Pros

As a newbie in the world of online teaching, I find NativeCamp to be a great starting point. This is my first company in the online ESL industry, and I consider it a solid training ground. Most of the students I’ve encountered so far are adults, which I really enjoy. Conversing with adult learners makes the teaching experience smoother and more relaxed because they can easily understand instructions. I also appreciate that I don’t need to exert too much energy just to keep the class engaging—they can keep the conversation going, which is a big help for beginners like me.

Cons

One concern I have is the lack of a mirror camera option during lessons. I personally feel more confident when I see myself mirrored on the screen. Without this option, my facial features appear flipped, which affects my confidence a bit. I think many teachers might share this concern, especially those who are camera-conscious.

Pros

The interface with the avatar program I'm using is straightforward to use and to troubleshoot when bugs arise. I was worried about the technology, but I have been very happy with using it to do the lesson.

Cons

The amount of time we have to be on standby in order to then catch a short 10 or 15 or 25 minute lesson really is frustrating. I just looked at the minutes and realized that all my hours of waiting and teaching have total to like 25 bucks and well... That is insane. I'm all for teaching eager English learners but this level of hourly pay must be about $3 an actual hour. I'd guess my electricity for running the computer and lights is more than that.
