      Everything; for a public company now.... bias, nepotism, favoritism, secrecy still rife as with just about all Silicon Valley millennial run ego factories.

      Pros

      Despite the negative reviews, okta treats its employees A LOT better than most other companies do. But you won’t realize that until you leave. The company is still positioned to do well. A leader in the IAM space and still a lot of runway. It’s now a work life balance company. There’s predictability in the work. Not very many “we need this done yesterday” deadlines Generally, everyone here cares and wants to do good work (at least at a Director and below level. Can’t always say that about leadership)

      I’ve been here quite a while and can say things were sooo much better 4+ years ago, specific to culture, efficiency, communication and real ownership of work. We seem to have lost our way with a lot of bad management hires. CEO needs a stronger team around him that can hold their own. Very few do this today. Pretty political. Everyone wants their hands on everything and credit for everything. Just calm down and let people do their job! Why so much red tape for everything? (It wasn’t this way a few years ago) Less options for career growth. Moving laterally is still fine, moving up the chain is tough. Not so great in diversity hiring.
