Best company I've worked for

Pros

Great technology, Leader in the space, best talent in the industry, employees are not just numbers, you decide your own level of involvement and success. I'll start by saying that if you're of the mind set of, "this task is not my responsibility" or "I'm going to do the bare minimum and fly under the radar" you're not going to fit in. You'd be working with individuals and teams that are highly self motivated and with a tenacious need to be successful by making the customer successful. I'm also glad to share that this success is very much recognized and rewarded at OKTA unlike the places I've worked for in the past. You get out what you put in, and my only regret is that I didn't come here sooner. If you are already successful, a team player with great work ethics, curious and eager to learn, self motivated with a do what it takes attitude, and care about making customers successful then this is the place for you.

Cons

We are always hiring people and finding the proper talent can be tricky. People are rarely their true selves during interviews, and as a result, we sometimes misjudge and hire folks of the wrong caliber who then write bad reviews on Glassdoor.

Pros

I've done a couple internships with Okta, and I highly recommend interning with the company. I could not ask for a better internship. They fostered an environment where I could learn a lot through hands on experience, but they also believed that I was capable of completing complex projects. The pay is competitive, the location is ideal, the culture is very young and energetic. They have perks such as streaming big games such as the World Cup, free lunch, free snacks, free drinks (including a kegerator on each floor), and happy hours. Honestly, the best part is that I felt like a valued member of the company, and that they actually cared about my personal success. The moment that best represents this is that I am a marketing major that is also interested in finance, and they let me laterally move across the organization to work in the finance department. I don't know very many companies that would let an intern do that.

Cons

There aren't really any major cons. If I had to pick I would say San Francisco is extremely expensive so commuter or housing reimbursement or subsidies would have been appreciated as a college student; this by no means took away from my internship experience.

Pros

Fantastic Culture of Shared Success, excellent management from the top down, fast growth creates a lot of opportunities to pursue different paths and advance.

Cons

Really nothing consequential. It's not for everyone. Fast-paced, sales focused culture and you have to able to keep up. Fast growth always leads to some growing pains around operations, as new people ramp, etc.
