Pros

Salary was excellent. Benefits were okay; nothing outstanding. Some seriously good people.

Cons

Fear... constant fear. Matrixed. More like infinitely convoluted. Getting anything done requires getting 40 department involved - without ever telling you what department does what or whom to contact. Trickle down blame. Management overly concerned with how things look for "them". Restricted advancement. Unrealistic expectations of control over external forces; what an employee was able to control. Managers publicly verbally flogging employees during group meetings. Tossing folks under a bus was a common theme.

Pros

Decent pay Work from home opportunities

Cons

This company is like a glutton at a cheap buffet and keeps on acquiring smaller healthcare companies, integrating them and stealing their tech, and then laying off loyal hard working employees. If your company ends up acquired by UHG/Optum, go ahead and start polishing your resume because there’s a huge chance you may not be around within the following year.

Pros

They have a decent benefits package and a pretty good medical/personal leave policy.

Cons

The work environment is toxic and exploitative. The sole purpose of every employee is to burn themselves out so that a few executives get multi-million dollar bonuses. Most everyone in the administration are in over their heads and it shows. Negative behaviors run rampant. Gossip is everywhere and that's about the only way you'll find out what's going on. There's zero communication and everyone acts like they just committed a crime. Teamwork is non-existent. You cannot trust anyone. There's rampant favoritism. The only thing you need to do to succeed is kiss the right behind. Forget about patient care too. No one thinks about them except for frontline employees and they're treated like they're disposable.
